Lurleen B. Wallace Community College Selects BibliU for First-Ever Campus Store Management Partnership

ANDALUSIA, AL — Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (LBW) has selected BibliU to manage its campus store and course materials program beginning Fall 2026. This partnership marks the first time in the college’s history that it has entrusted bookstore operations to an external provider—and represents BibliU's first institutional partnership in Alabama.

As LBW evaluated the future of its campus store, the college sought a partner that could  improve affordability, support a growing use of open educational resources (OER), and  meet the unique course materials needs of specific student populations—all through one coordinated solution. BibliU's ability to address these priorities through a single integrated campus store model was a key factor in LBW's decision.

Under the partnership, BibliU will assume management of LBW's campus store and introduce BibliU Access, an access program that provides students with their required course materials for a low, flat fee per credit hour. BibliU Access delivers clear pricing transparency and affordable course materials, ensuring Day 1 student readiness and success.

The campus store will also undergo strategic capital improvements designed to modernize the retail environment, enhance merchandising capabilities, and create a more engaging and convenient experience for students, faculty, and staff. In addition, BibliU will operate an additional pop-up location during peak traffic periods, providing greater accessibility, expanded sales capacity, and convenient access to essential merchandise and services when campus demand is at its highest.

This partnership marks a major strategic shift for LBW, which has historically self-operated its bookstore. The college selected BibliU to go beyond a standard vendor relationship, as a collaborative partner willing to build a customized solution for the institution's specific challenges. By outsourcing these operations, the college eliminates the burden of independent store management while enhancing the campus store experience.

"In trying to find a bookstore solution, BibliU stood out from the rest because of their authenticity and solution-focused approach," said Dr. Brock Kelley, President of Lurleen B. Wallace Community College. "I know LBW Community College is a better institution because of our partnership with BibliU."

“LBW was looking for more than a vendor—they were looking for a partner willing to work through real problems,” said Dave Sherwood, CEO of BibliU. “We're proud to be their first external campus store partner, and proud that our first partnership in Alabama is with an institution so committed to serving its students and community."
