Clover Park Technical College Partners with BibliU to Align Course Materials with Student-Centered Mission

LAKEWOOD, Wash. — Clover Park Technical College (CPTC), a leader in technical education since 1941, has partnered with BibliU to expand affordable Day 1 access to course materials and modernize their campus store operations for its more than 6,800 students.

When CPTC's bookstore vendor contract came up for renewal, the college saw an opportunity to align course materials and campus store services with its mission: student success through access and affordability. A dedicated task force spent months reviewing bookstore models, studying student and faculty experiences, and researching the future of college materials access.

‍

According to Dr. Joyce Loveday, President of CPTC, the work resulted in a guiding philosophy: "The CPTC bookstore is a student-centered, service-oriented resource that supports academic and financial success through accessible, inclusive and sustainable practices, offering competitively priced, timely materials and services that reflect the needs of our diverse college community."

‍

BibliU's integrated platform aligned directly with that vision, combining Day 1 access to digital course materials with flexible affordability options and operational efficiency to meet the needs of every student.

‍

"At Clover Park Technical College, student success means making sure students have the resources they need to reach their educational and career goals,” Dr. Loveday said. "Our partnership with BibliU represents an opportunity to make accessing course materials more convenient and affordable, helping students focus on what matters most: learning the skills and gaining the knowledge they need to succeed in their chosen careers."

‍

With BibliU, CPTC students will now receive their required course materials on Day 1, billed directly to their student account with the flexibility to opt out. Faculty adoptions will happen through a single, streamlined process rather than separate workflows for digital and print. And all digital course materials will be distributed in the learning management system and ready on Day 1.

‍

The partnership brings new visibility to what CPTC didn't have before: in-depth insights into student engagement. Now, faculty will be able to see how students are engaging with and utilizing their assigned content. If they are accessing it frequently and for how long, or if there are engagement patterns that need to be flagged. This valuable insight will help address problems before it can affect a student.

"Clover Park Technical College has been preparing people for the workforce for more than 80 years,” said Dave Sherwood, CEO of BibliU. “From training aircraft mechanics and welders during World War II to preparing today's students for careers in aviation, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, technology and the skilled trades. There's something special about a college where learning is so closely connected to what students will actually go out and do. We're proud to partner with Clover Park and help make sure the materials students need to build those skills are affordable and ready when they are."

‍

Starting January 2027, CPTC joins a growing community of BibliU partner institutions worldwide that partner with BibliU to deliver affordable, accessible course materials and modern campus store operations.
